Position Summary
The Designer is responsible for designing and reviewing multiple projects for customers on a continuous basis to meet drawing submittal and release deadlines.

Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)

Create submittal drawings for use in permitting
Create detailed drawings required for installation crews
Ability to work closely as a team including, Design Lead, fellow Designers, Project Managers, Engineers, Sales, and with Customers
Review fellow Designer's drawings and bill of material lists
Communicate externally utilizing Microsoft Outlook & Teams
Monitor and minimize indirect hours; stays focused on billable direct time projects
Prepares internally reviewed letters to customers and Designers, including information requests, technical guidance, transmittal comments/questions, etc.
Provides ideas and helps management implement continuous improvement initiatives identified in yearly and long- term goals
Review project design plans and specifications
Starts with a high level of guidance and works toward independent work and decisions

Secondary Accountabilities
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)

Degree: Technical School
Major: Engineering or Related Field

Years of Experience: 1+ Year
Area: Design/AutoCAD experience

Years of Experience: 1+ Year
Area: Structural Steel Detailing
